Etwa 12 km nördlich von der Stadt Šiauliai, in der Nähe von der Bahnlinie Šiauliai - Riga, auf den Feldern befindet sich ein ziemlich niedriger ovaler Hügel mit Vertiefung in der Mitte, auf dem dicht nebeneinander zahllose Kreuze stehen. Es ist der berühmte Berg der Kreuze, Symbol der Ehre und der Treue des Kreuzopfers, durch dieses Christus die Menschen aller Zeiten und Generationen gerettet hat. Der Berg der Kreuze erinnert nicht nur an Leiden und Tod des Erlösers, sondern auch an seine Auferstehung und Erhöhung, damit auch an Erhöhung jedes Menschen durch Geheimnis des Kreuzes. Besucher des Berges der Kreuze, die hier beten und Kreuze stellen, zeugen von der Stärke, unaufhörlicher Hoffnung und dem Glauben an Liebe Gottes, die aus dem Kreuz quellen.

BY BUS/ COACH Šiauliai Bus Station (Tilžės St. 109, Šiauliai) Stop No. 12 Direction: ŠIAULIAI–JONIŠKIS Ticket: ŠIAULIAI–DOMANTAI (the Hill of Crosses) To get off at Domantų stop (the third one from Šiauliai), then walk for 2 km up to the Hill of Crosses DEPARTURE TIME Departure times: 6:35 (no Sundays), 7:25 (no Sundays), 8:25, 9:00 (only Sundays), 10:25 (no Sundays), 11:00, 12:15, 13:30 (no Sundays), 14:45, 17:30, 18:10 (no Sundays), 20:30 BY CAR To drive on road A12 from Šiauliai for approximately 10 km towards the direction for Riga up to sign „Kryžių kalnas 2 km“ (2 km to the Hill of Crosses), then turn right. To drive on road A12 from Joniškis town for approximately 30 km towards the direction for Šiauliai up to sign „Kryžių kalnas 2 km “ (2 km to the Hill of Crosses), then turn left. BY BICYCLE To ride on the bicycle track by road A12 from Šiauliai for approximately 10 km towards the direction for Riga up to sign „Kryžių kalnas 2 km“ (2 km to the Hill of Crosses), then turn right. To ride on the bicycle track by road A12 from Joniškis town for approximately 30 km towards the direction for Šiauliai up to sign „Kryžių kalnas 2 km “ (2 km to the Hill of Crosses), then turn left. The bicycle track leads from Joniškis town to the boundary of Šiauliai district and then the main road should be taken up to the Hill of Crosses.
